A visit to a hidden river in Kuala Tahan, Pahang yields a great fishing experience.

I have always had a penchant for jungle rivers. There’s something about clear water flowing over boulders and sunken logs that evokes a feeling that I’m truly home. Maybe it’s the memories from childhood, fishing the overgrown little Sungai Korok in Kangar. I would spend whole days there casually fishing for haruan and puyu, watching the wildlife go by.

scuba_pair_sm.jpgScuba diving is the act of swimming underwater while using Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. By carrying a source of breathing gas (usually compressed air), the scuba diver is able to stay underwater longer than with the simple breath-holding techniques used in snorkeling and free-diving, and is not hindered by air lines to a remote air source. The scuba diver typically swims underwater by using fins attached to the feet.

On Malaysia's high point, Mount Kinabalu (13,435 feet), lurks a climber's paradise, a granite plateau beetling with unclimbed aiguilles and rent by a 2,000-foot-deep canyon.
