Basically, if you are into terminal tackle, rods and reels, the same principle applies when you can't get any fishing rods to suite your needs. Find a person who can build one for you!

I have dodged the world of custom-crafted fishing rods for more than 15-years till of late. Found a maker who could build me my 'ultimate squid rod' for a reasonable price. Now, custom rod building doesn't really have to cost you your liver and right kidney..

I got mine done by a "Fei Chai Chong" (Fatboy Chong) at a cost of RM280.00 which is cheaper than any high-end rods you can find on the shelf. So far, I placed my bets on two hands.

I had one built for light tackle (6-10lbs line action) by Chong and another, by my favourite tacklestore man Nick Ooi of tacklebox adventures in Subang Jaya's SS15. This one is built for my ABU Pro Rocket CS 6500. And his price was also very reasonable.

Ultimately, there is this dude called Encik Rosli who was an ex-Air Force ground crew that makes the best Custom-built rods you can ever find! He's very expensive and has some really good quality stuff!
